At three design, the process of faux finishing begins with helping you envision your perfect space. Many people have a hard time visualizing the right finish to complement their living or work environment. The prospect of having a decorative finish, mural or creative treatment can seem intimidating.
When you contact three design we schedule a time to visit with you and show you a variety of samples to help you identify the desired creative finish.
When three design meets with you, we take notes on your room’s prominent features - the colors of your furniture, rugs and artwork, how much light your room has, the primary use of the room, etc.
Keep in mind: due to the complexity of custom painting it is impossible to give a quote without a walk-through of the jobsite. Only after we view the site will we be able to draft an accurate proposal.
How Much Does It Cost?
Understandably, the most common question we get is “how much will this cost?” When we meet with you, we will discuss your budget and give you a baseline price along with alternative options to fit your budget. Prices can range anywhere from $200 to $10,000 and up. Many factors are taken into consideration when we draft our proposals.
For example:
- Room size
- Condition of the area to be treated
- Steps involved
- Quality materials needed to achieve the finish
Because every decorative finish differs – in the intricate steps involved, in the accessibility of the room or wall, and in the nature of the fine materials we use – the prices can vary widely. A simple, blended color wash typically will not be as expensive as a more labor-intensive burnished fine Venetian plaster. In some environments, the texture of a wall may not be suitable for the desired finish. In this case, the wall will be corrected in order to accommodate the faux finish and can cause a price increase.
After assessing your needs, a sample fee will secure you up to three custom samples for your approval. After you make a sample selection, we will draw up a draft project proposal. Once the proposal is accepted, three design will then work with you to schedule your project. An initial deposit will be due at this time in order to confirm a start date.
