Frequently Asked Questions
- Can faux finishes and murals be cleaned?
Most finishes that are subject to dirt or scuffs are sealed with either an acrylic urethane or polyurethane protective coating. This allows any solvent-free cleanser to be used.
- How long will my creative finish take?
This depends on the finish. For example, some finishes such as faux stone, marble-izing or a wax resist finish, will have several steps which require sufficient dry-time between applications. Conversely, an oil glaze, blush wash, or leather finish often can be completed more quickly due to the temperament and dynamics of the materials involved.
- What is the sound of one faux finisher clapping?
Answer: Exactly.
- Can a faux finish be touched up?
Fixing or touching up a faux finish can be achieved by using the same paints and materials involved in the original application. If the original materials are not present, custom colors may have to be made specifically for the application and in some instances the entire surface may have to be base coated and refinished.
- Does three design work with designers?
The artisans of three design have worked extensively with designers.
- How do you price your finishes?
Typically finishes can range any where from $2.00 a square foot to $10.00 a square foot and up. Pricing is done by estimating the time involved, materials used, complexity of the treatment and access to the space to be finished.
- Do you do wallpaper?
Nope. However, we have a wide variety of pattern-based finishes and stencils that can provide the same effect that wallpaper gives. Contact us for more detail.
